Terms of Sale & Use

The short version

You're buying one copy of a piece of software for one teacher, once, for US$49. It's yours to keep and it never expires.

If it's not for you, tell me within 30 days and I'll refund you in full, no questions asked.

Please don't pass it around to colleagues — each teacher needs their own copy. That's what keeps this affordable and keeps me able to support it.

1. Who you're buying from

Loop Teacher is made and sold by an individual teacher operating from Quebec, Canada, contactable at contact@betterlifeloops.com. Payment is processed by Stripe, who act as merchant of record for the transaction — so their name may appear on your card statement and receipt. Your agreement about using the software is with me.

2. What you get

A single download containing:

The homeschool starter pack is built into the app. Everything runs from a file on your own computer in a modern web browser — Windows, Mac, Chromebook or Linux. Nothing is installed, and no account is created.

3. Price and payment

US$49.00, one time. This is not a subscription: there is no renewal, no recurring charge, and no expiry. Prices are in US dollars; your bank may apply a conversion rate if you pay in another currency. Any sales tax, VAT or GST that applies where you live is calculated and remitted by Stripe as merchant of record.

4. Delivery

Delivery is immediate. After payment you're taken straight to a download page. Please save the file at that point — the download page isn't emailed to you. If you lose the file, email me and I'll send it again; there's no charge and I won't make it awkward.

5. The 30-day guarantee

If it doesn't earn its place, I'll refund you.

Use Loop Teacher for up to 30 days from your purchase. If it hasn't saved you time, or it simply doesn't suit how you plan, email contact@betterlifeloops.com and I'll refund the full amount to your original payment method.

There is no form, and I won't ask you to justify the request or complete a survey. Refunds are normally issued within a few business days; how quickly the money reappears after that is up to your bank.

The guarantee is offered in good faith and I'd ask you to treat it the same way. If someone repeatedly buys and refunds, I reserve the right to decline future sales to them — but that's about abuse, not about anyone who tried it honestly and found it wasn't for them.

6. Your licence

You get a personal, non-exclusive licence for one teacher. You may:

You may not share, resell, redistribute or publicly post the application file, or supply it to other teachers. Each teacher needs their own licence. If your school or department would like several copies, write to me and we'll sort something out sensibly.

The full licence text is included in your download as Licence.txt. Where these terms and that file differ, Licence.txt governs the licence itself.

7. Updates and support

Your purchase includes 12 months of bug-fix and compatibility updates, delivered as a replacement file, and 12 months of email support for installation problems and technical defects. Support is provided by one teacher who also teaches, so replies come as promptly as a working week allows — usually within a couple of days.

Future major versions are offered separately, at a discount to existing owners. Curriculum consulting and custom lesson creation are not included.

8. Your data, and what that means

Loop Teacher stores everything on your own computer and transmits nothing. That privacy design has an unavoidable consequence: I cannot recover your data for you — not if your computer fails, not if your browser storage is cleared, not if you work in a private window and close it.

Saving your own safety copies is the only backup that exists. The Start Here guide explains the habit, and it takes about a minute a week. Please do it.

9. What Loop Teacher is not

Loop Teacher is a planning tool. It is not a student information system, a gradebook of record, a transcript generator, or a compliance or reporting system for any ministry, board or district. The homeschool starter pack is a planning starter, not a record of legal standing.

Nothing in Loop Teacher replaces your professional judgment, your employer's policies — including any policy on AI use and student privacy — or your legal obligations regarding student information. You remain responsible for those.

10. The optional AI features

AI is off by default. The included prompts are designed to be used with an AI assistant you already have, and anything you copy into such a tool is a transfer you are choosing to make, subject to that provider's terms. The prompts are written to use student codes rather than names, and I'd encourage you to keep it that way.

11. No warranty, and limits

Loop Teacher is provided "as is". I fix reported defects and I take that seriously, but I can't promise the software will be uninterrupted or error-free on every combination of computer and browser in the world.

To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for lost data, lost preparation time, or decisions made using the software, and any liability is limited to the amount you paid. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be waived — and in Quebec and elsewhere, some cannot.

12. Changes

These terms may change for future purchases; the date at the top will change with them. The terms that apply to you are the ones in force on the day you bought.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the laws of Canada applicable there. If you're a consumer elsewhere, this doesn't remove protections your own local law gives you.
