The 6 a.m. problem

Sub plans that reflect what actually happened.

You’re sick at 6 a.m. and the sub plan has to exist by 7. The generic version — busywork worksheet, “students may read quietly” — keeps the room safe and loses the day.

What a substitute actually needs is what you already have: today’s real plan, where the class genuinely is, and the materials that go with it.

In Loop, most of the sub plan already exists.

• Yesterday is on it — the accepted adjustment sits at the top, so the sub knows the class needs another pass at fractions before anyone says a word.

• Optional AI assist — if you’ve turned the helper on, a pre-filled sub-plan prompt drafts the connective text for your own AI tool. Off by default, and student names are never included — codes only.
